As Democrats try to figure out what their slim majorities in the House and Senate mean in Washington, debates over legislative policies that impact people are playing out in state legislatures around the country.

Republicans expanded their statehouse majorities in the 2020 election, and in many states legislators are now setting up battles over abortion rights, freedom of speech, health care, LGBTQ+ rights and voting access. The 19th is following those battles over the coming months and how they impact you, our readers.

Many state legislatures are now in session and will be during the first half of the year. What specific bills or issues do you plan to keep track of during your state’s legislative session? How do you plan to stay engaged with what’s happening in your statehouse? Help inform our coverage by completing the form below. The deadline to submit responses is February 15.

The 19th thanks our sponsors. Become one.

We also welcome you to reach out to our statehouses reporter Barbara Rodriguez directly via Twitter or email at bcrodriguez@19thnews.org.
