Hello! I’m Afia Barrie, a reporting fellow at The 19th. I’m a recent graduate of Howard University, where I majored in journalism and minored in human development. At Howard, I served as the variety editor of The Hilltop, the nation’s oldest Black collegiate newspaper. Previously, I interned at The Washington Post, CNN, and PBS Newshour.
