I’m Grace Panetta, a politics reporter at The 19th covering the candidates, issues and voters that power our elections.

My journey in political journalism began at the end of my sophomore year of college, where I took an internship on Business Insider’s politics desk that turned into a full-time job.

At The 19th, I’ve reported on politics and elections from Washington and from states across the country. I was part of the team that won a 2025 Edward R. Murrow award for breaking news coverage of President Joe Biden stepping down and Vice President Kamala Harris’ stepping up in the 2024 presidential election.

I graduated from Barnard College in the class of 2020. I’m a proud New England native and live in Washington, D.C. — though I can be easily persuaded to say yes to spontaneous concerts and weekend trips. If I’m not spending my weekend with friends, I’m probably in an airport, chain hotel or rental car in a battleground state near you.
