Hi! I’m Jerica Deck, a social strategist, journalist and storyteller passionate about creating digital content that informs communities while remaining culturally relevant and accessible online. I have covered topics including race, gender, pop culture and systemic inequality for organizations such as Global Citizen, The Afro-American Newspapers and Business Insider.
Prior to joining The 19th as an audience fellow, I worked at Girls Who Code, where I used digital storytelling and representation to help close the gender gap in STEM. I especially enjoy storytelling that sits at the intersection of culture, community, internet conversation and audience engagement.
