Wynton Wong

Multimedia Producer (She/They)

I’m Wynton Wong, multimedia producer at The 19th. I work on a variety of audio and video projects, including The Amendment podcast, videos on social media and occasionally our events, making sure that things are looking and sounding good in the room and in our recordings.

In my professional life, I have worn a lot of different hats — writing, directing, producing, editing and programming — and have worked in every department at least once. (Shout out to the art department for being underappreciated!) I love working with our reporters and editors to figure out the best ways to tell our stories on different platforms in different formats to meet people where they are and to get them curious about the world around them. I’ve worked in a variety of storytelling spaces, from traditional film and TV to digital and interactive. I’ve previously worked at Universal Cable Productions, It Gets Better Project, Tribeca Film Festival, the Asian American International Film Festival, The Outline and The Markup.

I love working on teams, working with talented storytellers, and the intersection of storytelling, community and technology. I’m a proud Tar Heel and Hong Konger, spend too much time on YouTube, and will eat any type of curry any day of the week.

My work is free to consume and free to republish because of contributions from readers like you. A donation of $19 goes a long way toward sustaining our nonprofit newsroom.
