Alexis Wray

Former Reporting Fellow

Alexis Wray is a former Frances Ellen Watkins Harper reporting fellow. At The 19th, she reported and shined a light on the intersections of race, gender and politics. Before The 19th, she wrote about everything from student loan debt and higher education to social movements in Appalachia for Scalawag Magazine, The Appalachian Voice, The Atlanta Voice and Reckon News. Alexis is North Carolina A&T State University alumna where she earned a bachelor’s in journalism and mass communications, and is a graduate of Syracuse University with a Master of Science in communication and journalism innovation.
